Phoenicia InterContinental Hotel in Beirut is looking to hire a Human Resources Director.
Overlooking the Mediterranean, the Phoenicia InterContinental hotel with 446 rooms and suites and 33 apartments, along with 3 F&B outlets, and one of the largest banquet facilities in Lebanon, will reopen its doors after two years to embrace the community where it operates with the outstanding luxury it represents.
As Human Resources Director you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the accomplishment of the Human Resources practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, and productivity.
- Collecting and maintaining data from exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports to identify trends, training needs, and supervisory issues.
- Focusing on the recruitment and ongoing development of a quality workforce.
- Investigating all workplace issues to discover facts, identifying potential risks to the hotel, and facilitating resolution through your employee relations program.
- Reporting to the General Manager and assists Department Heads with issues relating to Human Resources.
- Monitoring and ensuring the organizations compliance with local employment laws and regulations, and recommending best practices; reviews and modifying policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Providing a comprehensive administrative support to day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department ensuring the efficient delivery of salary payments, salary adjustments, recruitment processes, and the accuracy of employee data records.
- Preparing and posting job advertisements, screening applications, arranging interviews, participating in selection process, and administering pre-employment tests as required.
- Managing sensitive and confidential matters while planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.
- Ensuring that all colleagues abide by the Hotel Grooming Standards, all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
Ideally, you will have some or all of the following competencies and experience we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management / Degree in Hospitality Management.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience, 4 of which in a leadership role at a full-service five-star hotel.
- Strong knowledge of the Lebanese labor law.
- Proficient with basic budget management and calculations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in local and English language.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools and ability to quickly learn the talent management systems.
