الوصف الوظيفي

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.The Registrar shall carry out the clinical and other duties allocated to him/her by the Chief of Department.

2.The Registrar shall be responsible for orientation of New Staffs (Resident).

3.The Registrar shall supervise the Resident’s management of patients within the department and, if necessary, in the absence of Resident, carries out the basic Resident work.

4.The Registrar on-call shall always inform the Consultant about the case to be admitted after having evaluated the patient and obtained the pertinent Laboratory data. If the case is urgent, the Registrar shall immediately inform the Consultant after preliminary evaluation and before laboratory results are obtained.

5.Responds promptly without any delay to all Code Blue Calls.

6.Recognizes life-threatening situations and the performance of appropriate life saving procedures.

7.Initiates and performs a range of diagnostic measures based on patient needs.

8.Provides clinical guidance, direction and coordination of activities for supportive care within the casualty area and for follow-up.

9.Maintains confidentiality of all Patient / Staff communications.

10.Coordinates with the ED In-Charge Nurse in all administrative and clinical matters.

11.Undertakes any other duties of the ED assigned by the Chief of the Department.

12.The Registrar shall accompany the Consultant he/she is assigned to at the discretion of the Chief of Department.

13.The Registrar shall assist the Consultant during procedures and can perform procedures appropriate to his/ her level of experience, under the supervision of the Consultant.

14.The Registrar shall actively participate in the other department activities including Clinical Presentations, Grand Rounds, Radiology Meetings, Departmental Morbidity and Mortality Meetings, etc.

15.The Registrar shall actively participate in the Continuous Medical Education Program of the hospital and his/ her department in the form of attending, assisting and participating in the educational activities of the hospital and his/ her department including the write-up of case studies with management plan and detailed review of relevant literature with references. He/She shall attend specific vocational training with the Chief of Medical Education and Training.

16.The Registrar shall actively participate in Quality Improvement Programs of his/ her department including designing of research protocols, data collection, audit department policies and procedures, etc.

17.Performs other tasks assigned within the employee’s knowledge, skill and competence.
