Duties and Responsibilities:

• He shall report to the unit consultant and Chief of Surgery.
• He shall take on call duties according to the requirements of the department.
• He shall conduct the day-to-day Unit activities under the direction of the Consultant and ensure the highest standard of patient care, through Emergency Room to Orthopedic clinic.
• In the absence of the Senior Registrar, the Registrar may be expected to perform these duties as directed by the unit consultant and the Chief of Surgery and approved by the Credentialing Committee.
• He shall initiate the evaluation and treatment of patients and may perform surgery on his own at the level of his delineated credentials after the prior approval of his consultant who shall ultimately be responsible for his patient’s care.
• He may modify or change the initial evaluation and treatment of patients begun by junior staff with regard to the patient’s clinical condition.
• He shall take an active role in the teaching of the residents and attend his own specific training as arranged by his senior staff or by the surgical tutor.
• He shall perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned by his seniors within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Performs other duties within the realm of his qualifications and experience.
