DEPUTY NURSING DIRECTOR
Cleopatra Hospital is currently hiring
Deputy Nursing Director
Key Responsibility:
• Facilitate smooth functioning of Critical Care Areas by coordinating and liaising amongst the unit staff, Supervise the activities of nurses & head nurses within the units.
• Liaise with infection control team in ensuring safe standards of practice.
• Guides head nurses in planning assignments for nursing personnel at the critical care units to ensure proper distribution of assignments and adequate management of time, space and facilities.
• Ensure continuous nursing education attendance by his/her staff.
• Monitor nurses’ performance and institute remedial actions where required with the Education Team, ensure mentorship for new staff, orientation program with education team.
• Prepare unit staff development plan with the assistance of HN & the Education Team.
• Ensures the cost-effective utilization of supplies and equipment used.
• Hold regular unit meetings with staff to discuss unit issues and submit minutes to the DON.
• Meet daily with DON to discuss day-to-day nursing management issues.
• Assists the Director of Nursing in all duties and acts up in her absence or as requested.
• Review nursing policies and procedures monitor the performance of Head Nurses and All Nursing Supervisors, link between the Nursing Supervisors and Director of Nursing.
• Revise the nursing rosters of all hospital units and floors before being approved.
• Collects the monthly activity reports, statistical data and annual reports and forwards them to DON.
• Do probationary and yearly performance appraisal of all staff with the collaboration of nursing education team, Commitment to JCI requirement.
Job Requirements:
-BSC degree of nursing
– Min exp 10 years with minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the same area of specialty
– Strong leadership and team management skills.
– Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with subordinates and senior management.
